Chapter Index

Isabel didn’t immediately agree to her daughter’s suggestion, she kept looking at Arthur as if she wanted to see if there was really something wrong with him.

Arthur didn’t rush to tell her either, he sat down in his chair.

Seeing her curious expression, he said, “You need to calm down first, aunt. Otherwise, your heart might jump in surprise.”

“I’m one of the people who determine the policies of this continent, what kind of storm haven’t I seen?” she answered.

“It’s more than just a storm.” Arthur chuckled.

Meanwhile, Carla touched his forehead.

“There doesn’t seem to be anything wrong,” she said.

Arthur grabbed her hand in response, then, he touched her fingers. Silently, he poured some spiritual energy into her body.

“What’s this?” She was instantly startled, withdrawing her hand spontaneously.

“What happened?” Isabel asked.

Carla didn’t answer, she just kept staring at her fingers, knitting her brows. For a moment, she felt like cold water was flowing into her body through those fingers. It gave her a comfortable sensation.

“Please don’t be curious, you will know soon, let’s eat first,” said Arthur to his aunt.

The latter finally said nothing more. She took the spoon and fork and started eating.

Arthur stared at the dishes on the table. This dinner is still in the category of luxury food, there are fried duck, grilled meat, hot soup. However, for him who had eaten even dragon meat, they could be said to be too simple. His underlings in the magic world probably wouldn’t spare them a glance.

But he knew he couldn’t complain about this on earth. He still had to eat, his strength was still far from the level where he didn’t need food.

He took a piece of the fried duck, ate it slowly.

His aunt glanced at him every now and then and it was clear she noticed his disinterest.

Despite wanting to comment, she held herself back in the end.

The dinner quickly passed.

Normally, they would immediately clear the table together, but Isabel and Carla didn’t move at all, they stared at Arthur.

The first one said “so what do you want to show us?”

Actually, Arthur also found it a bit difficult to point out something that shouldn’t exist, but since he had made up his mind, he placed his hand on the table.

The fingers of the hand moved and at each fingernail tip, smoke appeared which then turned into fire.

Arthur didn’t need to cast simple spells since he had the Spiritual Core, the movement of his fingers was enough to replace them.

Each flame on his fingers rapidly enlarged, they fused together, forming a fireball the size of a baseball.

Even though it was small, the heat it gave off was palpable.

Isabel and Carla opened their mouths. The latter even rubbed her eyes.

“What’s this?” She said subconsciously but was still answered by Arthur.

“Fire magic! If you want to see a bigger one, let’s go outside.”

“How do you have magic, Arthur?” Isabel asked.

Arthur felt a little strange by her tone, as if she was only surprised by him having magic power, but not by magic itself.

“Is this time not the first time you saw it, aunt?” asked Arthur.

That surprised Carla quite a bit. She looked curiously at her mother.

Isabel shook her head, she replied, “never, but someone very trusted did tell me about this.”

“Oh…” Arthur narrowed his eyes.

This could almost be considered as confirmation that there were magus on earth. They’re probably just so hidden that not even a congressman can see them.

“But how did you do it?” Isabel asked again, continuing to stare at the fire in Arthur’s palm.

The latter closed his palm, quelling the fireball and replacing it with wind cool enough that the heat from earlier turned cool.

His other hand held his chin and he replied, “it’s quite a hard thing to say. The point is, this afternoon, I had a long journey in another world, many years have passed but only an instant here, maybe time here froze while I was gone.”

Arthur naturally wouldn’t say thousands of years because that would be too much, his aunt would probably think of him as an old demon, years was enough, she could imagine for herself what the exact number was to cause his personality to change.

The two women’s reactions were more exaggerated than when Arthur had shown them magic, they looked like they were on the verge of flinching.

“You’re not lying, are you?” Isabel said while Carla said “you don’t watch too much isekai, do you?”
