Selene has a reverent expression on her face as she lifts the cup gingerly, and takes a small sip of it. "I have so missed this." - she mutters, setting the cup down and inhaling the steam. I have had sent Bridgit to "tend" to Moon Unit. Which, honestly, is a little more than "go make sure she's asleep and get in the bed yourself". I've managed to slip her a couple words I set my own cup down with a bit of clatter. "So. Date of transmigration?" - I level at her squarely. No point to beat around the bush.…

Well, that was certainly an impressive flop. Splendidly done, Selene. Simply breathtaking. She bounces off the pavement after a moment of stupefied inactivity, whirling to face me with absolutely gobsmacked expression. "HOW!?" - she demands in a voice that would be whisper if she wasn't also trying to shout. "You are not the first seer I'm dealing with." - I toss back at her - "All of you are subject to the same fundamental problem - you tend to assume that what you see is what will happen, instead of…

Bridgit is very pensive in the morning. So pensive, in fact, I'm suspecting she is half-way certain she had simply dreamt up the events of the previous evening. So I just have to do something silly about it. She squawks as I casually wrap an arm around her waist and dip her to kiss her properly. "...Mistress..." - she whines as I pull back - "You're horrible." It's obvious she's not referring to my kissing abilities. "You know, I wanted to do that for the longest time ever. Having a cute maid is such a…

Things are... setting down. Bridgit had been quiet the last two days, no doubt the aftereffects of Klaus being a moron. I have surreptitiously included a couple strands into her clothes that would let me keep track of her at all times. And, if needs be, offer magical support. And since I don't exactly feel like advertising my distributive abilities just yet, she got a couple of neckerchiefs and wristbands with beads of assorted metals woven into them as fuel stores for one-shot protective spells. Mostly of…

I am deeply thankful Moon Unit is kind and merciful and did NOT make me do something I'd have great difficulty in explaining to every single traumatized student and professor. I'm LESS thankful for her being an incorrigible TEASE! I keep spying on the people in the meanwhile. Hiram finally made an appearance. As in, he's now at his dorm room. His manservant is still turning away assorted visitors, so I am guessing he is not "officially in" just yet. Lemand is being his geeky self, failing to notice…

After this remarkable morning, things calm down. King's commission presents no trouble - I have already devised the structure once, now I just reproduce it a number of times and set it into the wooden planks, which are then polished and coated. I'm cheating on coating, just like anywhere else, it's just a layer of tar with finely ground lapis lasuli as the filler being flash-dried on the surface like a varnish. The result, however, is pretty remarkable - the combination of yellow pine with blue lapis…

I wake up in such a good mood that Bridgit comments on it. I simply claim that I had a nice dream. Which is not in any way a lie, at that. She also notifies me that an academy footman came by while I was still asleep and requested I visit the dean for unspecified reasons. Not sure what he wants, but it's not a hardship in any case. So after a light breakfast, I do depart towards the professoratorium. The day promises to be murky, given the clouds on the horizon. We might even have rain in the afternoon.…

Wracking my brains for an explanation... Match found. Dreamwalk. This is a magical ability inherent to elves. A capable mage is, theoretically, able to enter someone else's dream and interact with the dreamer there. Normally, dreamer won't realize it was anything more than a dream, unless dreamwalker elects to inform them otherwise. This ability is not really exposed in the original game much, and translation avoids the mention entirely. Considering Selene is not a full-blooded elf, but rather "of elven…

The sun is close to the horizon when we finally return to the dorm. This is fine. Dorms don't really have any set curfew right now, though that might change when the studies actually begin. The long outing had done wonders to my nerves. I am, in all honesty, happy right now. Which, of course, is the sign for the world to go ahead and try to spoil it. Because we run into one hunky fellow that I'm really having contradicting feelings about right now. On one hand, Alistair McGregor is a decent person, if…

The dorms are filling up slowly. The earliest arrivals are, ironically, the people who live the furthest. I guess it makes sense, with the abysmal state of logistics in this world. Travel is unpredictable so they depart with a lot of spare time to account for possible mishaps along the way. Which translates to them entering the dorms first. Thankfully, the actual assignment of rooms is done by the staff on a preplanned basis, so that there are less conflicts between the students about who gets to live…
