Spying on Konistan is surprisingly amusing. He never realized I generously seeded his whole place with eyespiders. By now, they have had dispersed to every place he has dealings with. So, to sum it up. He is rattled by our meeting and intends to pretend he is doing what I told him. Taking gold and leaving. Of course, the instructions he leaves are different. He instructs that I am to be listened to, smiled at and politely ignored as much as possible, or in case I give direct orders - do bare minimums in a…

This would be the third time. At this point, Klaus wasn't even trying to pretend he's doing serious work there. He was incredibly intrigued what other weird finds would a spell produce. Of course, he wouldn't dream of abandoning his actual duties for this lark, the events were already in motion for some genuine spying on the ever so elusive lady Gillespie. Given what his contacts had told him, she had successfully "disappeared" an assassin sent from Alamut. Which, well, was something very remarkable. Those…

My first impression on entering the Konistan trading house is "not impressed". Honestly, it's just... every single thing here is practically shouting "I'm trying so hard, why aren't you impressed with me?". Literally everything, from floor to attendants to ceiling. The expressions cinch it. Those people have chiseled ‘I'm so much better than you’ on their faces so hard not even ‘golly, let's not piss off high noble’ is diluting it well enough to be unseen. The impression intensifies when they open…

Things are coming to some interesting culminations. Ed's lands are an exercise in nonsequiturs. The highlights are glass, gourmet cheese, red wine and baskets. Not much to do with the last one, honestly, other than introducing some advanced frames to hold the baskets while weaving. Cheese is similarly hard to improve on - it just requires patience. I was able to suggest some basic enchantments to monitor the temperature and moisture of the aging caves, which seems to be a revelation. It's glassworks where…

The reactions are muted. Roxolane has no particular opinion on Edward, period. Bridgit and Moon Unit are... neutral, though I get the distinct feeling neither of them cares much for Edward at all. Lily-Anne is... complicated. On one hand, she greets him as a brother and generally seems to be quite pleased to see him. On the other, she is notably wary. Which is entirely understandable, as from her viewpoint she had just snatched his engagement from him. Selene is clearly on the other end of the spectrum,…

"So what did I say?" - Lily-Anne insists five minutes later, as we all settle down. Geez. Thanks a lot, Moon Unit. And no, giggling does not help. And Bridgit, really? Bah. I have very mean girls here. "You didn't, to be exact." - I explain with a sigh - "It is not a word at all. It is, well... It is my species mating call. So, very roughly translating it, you have had just invited me to make babies. Please don't do this in public places unless you want to get ravaged in front of everyone, it is…

In the end, while the overall confidence had increased, my personal one continues to drop. I keep worrying if I'm coercing Roxolane, and it puts me off the mood. And girls notice. And take it personally. Lily-Anne is huffing about me being "wishy-washy", Roxolane is sulking over "causing problems", Bridgit is worrying about everyone, and Moon Unit... is being rational at me. Which, I have to admit, is calming me down. Now if only she elected to be rational in a less crazy direction... "I understand your…

Rory frowned. The newest batch of notes from Chosen One was extensive and complicated. They had a lot of luck and profit with the previous batch, as it detailed on a dizzying array of kitchen and household utensils, many of which were novel to the point of being bought by nobles simply for the sake of being the first to own. Obviously, duke Gillespie's household got the first pick on everything they devised, but other than that, they made quite a bit of extra cash by auctioning the first piece to be sold,…

"You certainly don't miss any cues." - I grumble as I follow Lily-Anne into the garden. Abraham could not hang around for long, for obvious reasons, so after getting the acknowledgments, we bowed out to give him a few minutes to talk to Edward. Which is stupidly ironic, because in the end, I never got to have a talk with Ed properly. Now I have no idea what to expect from him. "I should hope not." - she tosses back - "I'm not keen on missing out." She pauses once we are well into the garden. It's pretty…

Note to self - even if I'm keeping my form firm, five girls on one bed results in one big knot in the morning. Working out from the pile is quite an effort, and honestly I probably would have taken much longer if Bridgit didn't wake up soon after me. Disentangling the other three to avoid any unfortunate incidents, we retire to the front room. Bridgit sets up omelettes and coffee while I consider what sweets to put on the table and heat some water for morning ablutions. For now, this is fine, but I should…
