Looking down, Crucis saw another player walking on the ledge below. This player was a level 55 Assassin, and would be a promising early target. From the scratches across his ankles, it looked like he hadn't yet got used to using the Divine Mana to ford the rocks in the way, and had tediously climbed over them. His attention was on the path in front of him, with an occasional glance at the wider area across the ledge. He seemed hesitant to continue onwards, suggesting that he had seen another player…

As he approached the large crowd of people waiting at the entrance to the plains, Crucis saw that about ten of them were hunched up or scrunched to the ground on the left. The crowd parted slightly around these people, creating a small alcove where they lay. As he walked through, cutting briefly through this alcove in order to get further towards the front of the crowd, he overheard a player with a strange, hybrid Australian-American accent explaining the situation to another. "Well, you know, these guys…

The figure on the stage looked calmly over the shouts of protest from the crowd. "Who are you?" "A jester of sorts," he said flippantly. "I am also known as the Archangel Michael." "You're not a real archangel! You're an idiot, a clown!" shouted , a player who wore a large crucifix pendant around their neck. Michael's juggling stopped abruptly, and he silently turned to face FatherJohannes. Staring impassively at the heckler, he held out his right palm and a fireball flew effortlessly out of it. As…

Since there were 20 minutes remaining until the world event, Crucis decided to get used to exploring the area. He saw a cave opening to the left, and walked towards it. The way to it was a rocky, uphill climb. He found that his steps were much lighter than usual here, and easily jogged up the ascent. He used the rocks as footholds, to stabilise himself as his feet almost floated across the ground. Feeling unbalanced, he briefly backtracked and climbed again, in order to get used to the movement. That…

Crucis woke up abruptly to the sound of loud sirens. Sitting up scruffily in bed, he looked around and heard a few players' panicked shouts from outside the inn. Wiping the dirt from his eye, he saw a large, red announcement flashing in the panel to his lower-left. [A player has activated the Galar Talisman and slain the wanderer Kvasir, who was a symbol of the peace between Aesir and Vanir. As a result, war has broken out once more in the Heavens, and an invading army of Asuras has taken advantage of…

As he dreamed, Karel found himself in a large, green-walled school building. It had a slight resemblance to his primary school in the Czech Republic, but wasn't entirely the same. He was sitting on a bench in a long corridor. It was early morning, on a cloudy, foggy day. The air was tinged with a slightly dark-blue, murky aura, and rays of sunlight shone through this like flashes of bright, ultramarine-edged powdery white. The sound of dainty footsteps came from his right. Raising his head, he saw a…

The group were firmly divided on the bear meat, with half grimacing in disgust and the other half eating it contentedly. "Honestly, I preferred the grasshoppers," Gastlem sighed. "It's alright," DicingDevil replied, "there'll be some beef on the way, I'll have the bear if it's too much for you." "Beef, huh?" Akshel said. "Fancy." "Yeah, OudNasser managed to find a spot in Kruxol where you could kill cattle without the guards noticing. Sort of a blind spot. It's only possible by sneaking through a few…

As Crucis wandered quietly through Kruxol, he saw a few empty areas still filled with spotlit performers in glittering white and gold shirts. These must have been hired by Darys to interrupt and annoy planned gatherings by anti-DeathGang elements. The performers danced flamboyantly in groups, taking it in turns to sing, with slogans like 'Glory to DeathGang' and 'Hail Victory' hung behind them in glitter and neon lights. Their songs were mostly decorative, upbeat, often meaningless strings of words to…

The celebrations could be heard through all of Kruxol, and their torch-flames suffused the night-time town with light and scorching heat. As they crossed the inn, Darys shouted to increase the volume and wake up the sleepers. Some players along the front began beating heavily on an array of drums, including a few local ones which sounded like gongs or large bells. A hoarse cry of, "You can't hide from death!" rose from the assembled throngs, struggling to be heard above the drums. Due to the number of…

As he was walking down the streets of Kruxol, Crucis suddenly heard a loud, feminine scream behind him. "Everyone, get away! Stay away from me!" Turning around, he saw a frail, white shape vanishing into an alley beside the road, seemingly hiding from some confused passers-by. Not one to let people have their way, Crucis used and ducked into the alley after her, using to pinpoint her location from the sound of her running. Besides, he had just read a Light Novel named , looted from GEORGEW, and it…
