"You…I know of you." Hearing that doesn't inspire a shred of hope in me. I'm not exactly in the best place to be recognized by people that aren't my subordinates, I've made a whole lot of enemies and not that many friends, fewer still allies. Throughout my stint in this world I've gone around making a whole lot of trouble and barely getting out of it, now it seems I'm in the crowning jewel of all the messes I've stepped into. Biting my cheek I set a shaky smile on and answer, "Do you?" It's lip pulls…

It's been hours, perhaps we've already sunk the entire day into fighting the Beast Mother's Cavern without ever laying eyes on the Beast Mother herself. But we've come far this day, farther than we'd come before at least. We're right where I want us to be. I'm full of mana and the Spirit Warriors freshly summoned and Jungle stronger now that he's caught up on some rest albeit sick with a hunger that plagues us both because somehow, neither of us thought it prudent to pack a meal. Frankly I thought I'd…

Jungle and Eldwin fend off the constant trickle of monsters that pops out of the tunnel while I recover. Which will still be awhile because I've spent out of the little I've recovered, fending the monsters off with well timed and coordinated casting of , summoning Eldwin and summoning the that strengthens my torn pathways little by little. With how tender they are I can kiss the goodbye for sometime to come. At least until I can check back with Aste and call for some alchemical cures. The is only…

tendrils lift me far above the battlefield, or rather the soon to be battlefield. Dozens of the tendrils extend outward, plucking and tossing stray monsters wherever I can spare my attention. It's a flood. My Blood Shower continues to torture the monsters and they seek escape and reprieve, but as they run blindly down the long wide corridors they fall into Shaco's set traps. Smaller showers, flurry of spikes and wide slices. Between the two of us, my familiar and I, we've cut the bulk of the enemy in…

It's tail lashes out and slaps Shaco away, I grit my teeth watching my familiar tumble away like an oversized ragdoll. Shaco's had little chance keeping the miniboss at bay, after Eldwin and Jungle blew up the first Lindworm it started its advance. Unleashing several blood shards at it proves ineffective as it slithers out of the way, launching itself over the attack and spitting a glob of lava out its mouth at the speeding shards. It lands unceremoniously but is up half a second later, slithering over,…

"Pull of the Dead!" The ground erupts with both corporeal and physical arms grasping at the charging Lindworms, bringing them to a halt and attempting to bury them while I prepare my next spell. Channelling the mana within me I take in a large and heavy breath, careful not to swallow as the spell I've got within does it's work. Already they've begun to break out of my spell's grasps, expected but a bit too soon. However, my next spell activates painfully, the cost for casting without a proper…

It was difficult manhandling Matthias over the course of a few days for my side project on Jungle. The young man has proven himself a treasure trove of helpful information about this world, acting at times as the guide I never got when I woke up here. Looking up Jungle's incident took some doings and a lot of money but I got interesting results and a peek into Jungle's intentions. The man has been stingy with information for a good bit so I thought I might as well help myself. Matthias came through with…

The turnout from my little inspiring speech isn't great. Only around thirty men and women chose to aid my war, it's not great but its workable. So long as there aren't any deserters. But there are bound to be. Forming an army from the first pool of Spirits was an unreasonable expectation to have, of course people also wouldn't want to spend their afterlife fighting in some war and getting hurt for some cause. People have never been that generous with trust, so it's better I focus my attention on moulding…
