The next thing to deal with was all the stat points that I had achieved, considering those now seemingly needed to be added to my stats manually instead of automatically through the system. I'd managed to grab 7 new stat points in total, though considering things like Strength and Speed were already at 750 apiece, it didn't really feel like that amount of stats would really do much to improve my abilities. Nevertheless, I decided to plug four points into strength, and three into speed. Any increase in…

The giant castle mecha threw its fist toward me, in a way that felt incredibly reminiscent of the very first fight that I experienced after being reincarnated in this world. I launched myself up into the air with a burst of to avoid the below and then activated the skill once again to come crashing down onto the arm. I careened downward, my sword below me in a deadly point, and cut straight through the wrist of the mannachoid. My sword sliced through the castle's arm like a knife through warm butter,…

[Name: Yr'Arl Knight of Atrenil HP: 1500/1500 Yr'Arl is a Knight of Atrenil and is one of many in a long line of Knights to join the Guard. He has since cast aside his goal of joining the Guard in favour of following Jacob Lyre, believing that the Human will do more good for the Galaxy than the Guard in its entirety. Hates Chile Con Carne.] I blinked away the observation pop up, it hadn't really given me any useful information, though the addition about the chile con carne was funny enough to force…

A familiar bright white flash of light whisked both myself and Yr'Arl away, depositing us once again in the battle arena. This was it. While both myself and the being I considered to be my best friend had both made it this far, one of us would be eliminated at this point, and with the revamp to my abilities and skills there was all of a sudden a very real chance that person being eliminated could be me. "It's time for the penultimate match of the tournament!" The voice of Squadron Leader Belana rang…

With a flash of white light, Akash was back in the Initiate's room and I had a bone to pick with him. "You weren't kidding when you said your powers let you do pretty much anything you wanted with your body, were you?" I asked, suppressing a scoff that probably would have turned the conversation nasty fast. "Why would I have joked about such a thing?" Akash asked, dismissing the drone that emerged from the wall to scan him before sauntering over to join the only two remaining initiates- myself and…

I flew the ship back into the base, I didn't really want to slip through the folds of reality again if I had to, that was a rather madness inducing sight. As I gently brought my ship down to land a troop of aliens in Protector uniforms, a red and white ensemble that I could definitely see myself slipping into somewhere down the line. Yet, instead of greeting my return like a hero, they had their weapons brandished and pointed straight at the ship. I knew I should have felt concern, but all things…

Travelling through whatever dimensional rift the Zietriss was capable of opening was an experience even worse than teleportation. As opposed to the soothing golds and yellows I got to see while my body was being atomized and rebuilt, this mode of travel was all the more terrifying. As soon as we slipped through the fissure that the ship had ripped open it felt like I was in a freefall, and not the nice kind you get where you pay a guy to fly really high up into the air and then chuck you out of a plane.…

Andi and Quatz both regarded me warily, the same way a soldier would regard a bomb that had yet to explode. The cracks on Quatz's head were flaring violently, as if they had gone into overdrive and Andi's eyes glowed with a harsher light than before. With the way they were glaring at me I felt I had done something wrong, even though all I had done was completed their recruitment challenge. "So ah, was that the whole recruitment thing then?" I asked, my strength starting to return to me a little more.…

I staggered out of the teleport beam and fell heavily, shoulder first, into the wall. It wasn't as bad as the first time, and I didn't feel as if I were going to crumble to my knees and puke up whatever was left in my stomach this time, but it was still a thoroughly pleasant experience. Andi chuckled and strode past me, clearly none the worse for wear after the teleportation. "I guess your kind don't have teleport technology then?" She chuckled, "Don't worry Craig, gets better after the first couple of…

Teleportation was likely a pretty interesting process. No doubt there would be all sorts of science and interesting theory that helped make it possible, and at some point in the future I might feel like learning about it. But for now, being teleported for the first time with basically no warnings, my mind was on other things. Primarily I was thinking about how terrifying having literally the entire world disintegrate in front of your very eyes, to be replaced by only swirling colours and the sound of…
