"Hey, that's gonna cause feedback into the suppression seal at fourty-five degrees! You trying to get this thing to blow up?" Jiraiya yelled, interrupting me from my painstakingly meticulous process of creating the seal that would hold Anko's life in the balance. "No, it won't because the River seal that comes next will naturally bleed off the energy and take it to flow into the next seal to help mitigate any excess amount while allowing it to keep a useful store of energy for me to discharge if I need a…

I did not bother to put much effort into hiding my approach to Hiruzen's office the day of our next meeting; except to sneak up on a Hyugga on lookout duty he was too much of a juicy target. "Pardon me, I have an appointment." I hissed lowly in his ear, making ANBU agent jump halfway across the compound into a perfect Jukken stance, a cry of alarm on his lips. I ignored it, and strode up the front door of Hiruzen's home and daintily knocked on the door. I ignored the entire squad of ANBU Ninja that were…

Hatake Kakashi stared up at the sky with a blank stare, hoping the tranquility of the twinkling stars above would somehow find its way into the chaotic maelstrom of his mind. The day had been more exhausting than his previous one, and that had involved fighting against an S-Class ninja of his own village while running the risk of having his mind taken over or being declared a traitor by his reason for living. They got separated and asked to repeat the order of events and the facts of matter and their…

Kakashi felt vindicated. In the aftermath of Danzo's death, there was a lot of paperwork and conversations that had to happen, though hardly as much as there could be in response to assassinating someone inside the village. Danzo was an S-Class ninja and the few people that knew he was traitor and that he had compromised the Third Hokage, the better. It made Konoha look weak to the other nations if the full scope of what happened came out. Still, there was a major problem that needed to be addressed after…

Not an update in the story, but rather some information. Sorry to get your hopes up. Rather, this is me coming in to inform you of some rather unfortunate news. Late last month, I got a biopsy for a lump on my head. It came back as melanoma. Yes, that I just beat my villains in story with super cancer is funny and it is okay to laugh about it. The irony is humorous. I'm currently being scheduled for a surgeon and more testing to see what stage I am at. I am not greatly in the mental space to be able to…

Getting into Konoha was laughably easy. ROOT had hidden paths into the village in a multitude of places if you knew where to look, and with Danzo's death, many of those paths remained unguarded. The most difficult aspect was sneaking into my old teacher's home. Guards and complex seal arrays made approach difficult, but hardly impossible. After I was inside, it was a simple matter of knowing where Hiruzen was likely to go after he had a difficult day. I didn't expect how emotionally impactful the inside…

Hatake Kakashi stared up at the bloody husk that was once Shimura Danzo hanging from a tree by the neck. Well, what was left of the neck anyways. It had been savaged viciously by having the entire weight of a tree being used to pull it taut. It was a wonder Danzo's whole head hadn't been removed. "Damn Hatake. They never did anything this fun during my exam." Anko commented. He didn't bother turning towards her to see her shit eating grin, he could hear it fine in her voice. Kakashi gave a hum of…

Obito couldn't bring himself to be satisfied at the situation. He had expected something to happen, obviously, it was Orochimaru (or whatever the hell Orochitama counted as) and underhanded treachery of surprising cleverness should have been more than expected. The attack had hit him, but only at first and not at full power. His phasing power didn't have only one setting. He could lean further in and out of the real world as needed, and when the attack first hit, he felt it instantly make his ears bleed…

Uchiha Obito felt uncertain. His opponent stood across from him, looking all the world like she was unconcerned about his presence. The same person who just stated some of the best kept secrets in the world casually and with a smile. He had to appreciate it, few had that kind of...panache. It was a show, a play, entertainment, and most of all, a distraction. The issue was questioning what it was meant to distract him from. "You truly mean to not attack me?" He questioned as he stared her down, hoping for…

We moved through the building like a good scalpel, quickly, quietly, and through all obstacles in our way until we reached the Mizukage's throne room. Not an office, like all the other Kage had, but a full on throne room. I had to wonder how much of that was Yagura and how much of it was Obito. The guards outside the door died in seconds, without any noise or fanfare. One to my sword, one to Zabuza's. "How do you want to play this?" Zabuza asked quietly. "Loud." I didn't see the point in going quiet.…
